What Are Integrated Bodywork Sessions?

Integrated Bodywork Sessions involve specific postures and poses with targeted movement techniques to address your specific wellness needs. These sessions offer a comprehensive approach to holistic wellness.

Whether it's targeting specific muscle groups for deeper release or developing a sequence to improve flexibility and strength, Incorporating Integrated Bodywork Sessions into an existing therapeutic massage regimen maximizes the benefits of both practices.

Do you wish you were more flexible? This might mean that your instructor spends most of the session working on deep stretching poses. Recovering from an injury? Your instructor may work with you on modified poses that take that into consideration. Are you just feeling overwhelmed with life? Your private instructor may spend the session working on breathing techniques to help with anxiety. The point we are are trying to make here is that your needs may be specific, and may change day to day. Karalyn Bord, LMT, RYT will take that into account every session.

What Happens in an Integrated Bodywork Session?

Our Integrated Bodywork sessions are held for 60 minutes, in our Himalayan salt room. Prior to your appointment, you will complete a brief questionnaire about your history, physical goals, and lifestyle that will help Karalyn develop a plan for session to meet your exact needs. Better yet, seeing Karalyn at least once for massage will give her the opportunity to learn about specific muscle and movement strengths and limitations and incorporate techniques into your session to take these into account.

It is most likely, especially if you have physical concerns you would like to address, Karalyn will recommend a series of Integrated Bodywork Sessions, or a combination with therapeutic massage.

Targeted Focus on Chronic Muscle Tension

If you suffer from chronic muscle tension or tightness, these sessions offer a focused approach to alleviate discomfort and promote relaxation. Your instructor will work with you to identify areas of tension and develop a practice that incorporates specific poses, stretches, and techniques to release muscle tightness, enhance flexibility, and foster long-term relief.

Whether you're experiencing tightness from stress, overuse, or injury, our integrated approach targets deep-seated tension to promote relaxation and release.

Correct Posture Imbalances

 
 

Poor posture can lead to various issues, including back pain, neck stiffness, and reduced mobility. In our Integrated Bodywork Sessions, our instructor focuses on realigning the body and strengthening supportive muscles to improve posture and prevent future issues. She will assess your posture and develop a customized practice to address imbalances and realign your body. By incorporating specific asanas (postures) and targeted exercises, you can improve your posture, strengthen the supporting muscles, and restore balance to your body.

Similar to comparing the benefits a student receives from private tutoring versus a regular classroom setting, you can use your Integrated Bodywork Sessions as private yoga lessons, which can allow your yoga skills to improve more quickly. Your private instructor can help you gain confidence, and progress rapidly and safely. Also, if you are a beginner, its very important to get the foundations of poses down, in order to progress. Our instructor can help guide you down to the smallest bit, even making sure your feet or toes are in the best position to support the pose. The best part is that you will feel successful, because it’s all happening at your skill level!

Meet Karalyn Bord, LMT, RYT

 
 

Karalyn Bord, LMT, RYT has been a practicing massage therapist for nearly 20 years, receiving her Massotherapy license in 2004 and completed yoga teacher training in 2010. She was drawn to the study of alternative and preventative therapies as a teen in search of treatment for chronic back pain, she eventually found relief through various forms of exercise, yoga, meditation and massage.

The blending of massage and Integrative Bodywork offers a comprehensive approach to holistic well-being. It combines the physical benefits of massage, such as relaxation and tension relief, with the mindful and flexibility-enhancing aspects of yoga.
